Charlotte joined CARI in December of 1994 and currently is a special projects manager. Charlotte has worked on various projects within CARI including a qualitative study on what attracted new residents to the Nebraska Panhandle and their likelihood of staying (Buffalo Commons Research). This research is continuing through a second National Research Initiative Study that is identifying marketing strategies to attract new residents. As part of a 4-H entrepreneurship team, wrote, edited and developed a youth Entrepreneurship Investigation (ESI) curriculum being used nationally within 4-H, schools and community organizations. Current projects include the Nebraska Broadband Initiative that is focused on the adoption and use of high speed interent. The project's ultimate goal is to increase economic viability. Previously, Charlotte was CARI’s administrative team leader and a coordinator for the Partnership for Rural Nebraska. As the CARI team leader, she was the supervisor of the administrative team and was involved in fundraising, reporting, and other special projects. As the coordinator for the PRN she organized the Nebraska Rural Institute now called the Governers Conference on Rural Development. The PRN is a cooperative commitment between the Rural Development Commission, State of Nebraska, University of Nebraska, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the Nebraska Development Network. Charlotte is originally from Sidney, Nebraska, and has previously worked at US West in Denver, Colorado, and at the Nebraska State Legislature. Charlotte has a master’s of science degree in leadership education and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She also has an associate's degree from National College in Rapid City, South Dakota and a certificate from the Denver Paralegal Institute. |
